Biltmore Wedding {Atlanta}

My Mac has been acting up, so uploading and editing pics in LR has been a no-go.
Instead of letting opportunities to share some of my latest faves slip by, I figured
I'd let the iPhone take over.  Well, at least until the Mac is back at 100%.

I had the honor of attending a gorgeous wedding at the Biltmore Hotel this
past weekend here in Atlanta.  Here are a couple pics I snagged:

This massive chandelier was hanging in the center of the room where the
ceremony was held.  The picture doesn't do it justice - it was beyond elegant!

And how cute is this idea?!  The couple purchased flip flops of various
sizes for all of the ladies.  It was such a fun, thoughtful treat!

I'm taking the Mac to the genius bar today and praying that we can get the
problems resolved asap.  I'm still taking pics with my "fancy" camera though...
hoping for the day when I can get into LR again and enjoy all of my pics!

Mother's Day Floral Fabulousness

Tomorrow is Mother's Day.  Describing how
awesome my mom is...well, not that difficult.

She is such a strong, caring, selfless woman.  The adversity she has
experienced has made her tougher, wiser, and that much more amazing.

My sister and I are planning a fun day of food, flowers,
and fun for Bob {our affectionate name for Mom}!

If you're a mom {even to a fur baby}, I wish
you a fabulous Mother's Day weekend!

That Dang Bird...

I spent the majority of my afternoon scoping out our backyard for a gorgeous
bird I spotted this morning.  This elusive little bird was a beautiful, bright blue color.

The hubs filled up the birdbath and sure enough, the little guy flew over.
I couldn't get a good shot though!  I did get one of him flying away...

Since the bird gave me such a hard time, I decided to snag a good shot of the pooch.  She
absolutely hates to have her picture taken.  She was a good girl and stood still for this one.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

The Georgian Terrace Hotel {Brunch at The Livingston}

I had the pleasure of attending one of my sweet friend's bridal brunch today.
It was hosted by her sister and friend at the Livingston, which is inside
the Georgian Terrace Hotel.  I saw this hotel when we saw "Wicked" at the
Fox.  I've always admired its beauty, but never had a reason to go inside.

I'm glad that changed today.

This was the view from upstairs at the Livingson:

Here's a closeup of the ornate walls and ceiling:

The table decor was gorgeous.

The food was delicious.

I came home and immediately started selling my hubs on a "stay-cation" at the
Georgian Terrace Hotel sometime in the near future!  Our anniversary is coming
up at the end of June...maybe that could be the perfect time and reason.

Sweetwater 420 Fest {2015}

What a rainy, dreary week it has been.  Tons of rain, overcast
days, and cooler temps - Spring sure is off to wet start.

But that didn't stop the excitement and fun at the Sweetwater 420 Fest!

It all kicked off last night at Centennial Olympic Park with Snoop Dogg and 16oz. cans
of delicious Sweetwater beer!  Everyone came out in their raincoats, poncho, and rain boots.

It was a blast!  The hubs and I can't wait to get back out there today for Day 2.
Cage the Elephant and several other bands are ready to rock out and so are we!

Truffula Tree Fun

My school has a mini Relay for Life event each year.
Our team chose the theme of Dr. Seuss.  Each class chose a
book/character.  It didn't take longer for the ball to get rolling!

We created these mustaches:

We also created our own Truffula trees:

What a fun and memorable day to celebrate those who have fought against cancer!

Do you participate in your local Relay for Life?

Let the Festivals Begin! {420 Fest - Atlanta - 2015}

Oh, yeah.  That just happened.

I can't even begin to express the excitement that is bubbling over inside of me!

I {heart} festival season here in Atlanta.  Whether it's food, beer, crafts, or
music - it's the perfect way to spend a Spring or Summer weekend.

What are your favorite festivals in your city?

Spring Blooms

One of my favorite things about Spring is all the beautiful, blooming
plants and trees.  The colors are gorgeous!  One of my least favorite
things about Spring is all the allergies.  But thanks to Benadryl,
me and Spring are becoming buddies again.

I snagged this picture on our playground yesterday.

The delicate blooms plus the beautiful blue sky made this shot perfect.
I'm excited to see the other trees and plant continue to bloom!

Welcome, Spring! {Henderson Park}

Our first weekend of Spring couldn't be more gorgeous!  It's sunny, temps are in
the 70's, and my spring allergies haven't kicked in.  There wasn't a snowballs
chance in hell we weren't hitting up a local park sometime this weekend!

We visited Henderson Park here in Tucker.  It's only a few miles from our house and is
tucked behind a school and neighborhood.  The hubs, the pooch, and I had a blast
walking the trails, watching the turtles swim, and checking out the ducks.

Here are a few of the shots I snapped:

Hope everyone else is enjoying their weekend!

Field Trip Fun

It's Saturday and that means it's time for my weekly pic!

My team and I took all of our 1st grade kiddos to the Gwinnett Environmental
and Heritage Center.  What an awesome trip for kids and adults alike!

I wish I could show all of the pics of the kids digging into the water cycle, space
exploration, recycling, and the evolution of water over the last 100 years.

Here's one of the pics that I can show you:

I don't what it is about old barns and buildings.
It's like they're calling my name.

Atlanta Spartan Race {March 2015}

Running over four miles, completing 27 obstacles, and crawling
through TONS of mud - that is the Spartan Race!

One of my buddies ran in the Atlanta Spartan Race today.
Holy cow at the challenge this race presents!

There were rope swings, boulders, and super cold, muddy water.  But this
guy (and tons of other ladies and gents) ran this thing and OWNED it!

Here are a couple of my favorite shots:

It was pure intensity coming over that muddy hill.

They said, "One shot, one kill."  Brian did just that!

Kudos to any and every person who has ever participated...it's nothing to take lightly.
You should be extremely proud of yourself and feel an extreme sense of accomplishment.

Zoo Atlanta {2014}

I took a photography class (one of several) earlier this year from a fabulous
photographer {Joe Federico} here in the Atlanta area.  The class
was held at Zoo Atlanta.  It was like an adult field trip!

It was great to have Joe there to help with exposure issues and
composition tips.  Here are a few of my faves from the class:

Have you ever taken pics at the zoo?
